    opinions on Sears 22424 BS

Any opinions on this? I need a basic 14" BS, and may have an opportunity to buy this one at a good price. Any known issues? if you have used one what do you think about it.

One thing I have heard about Sears Craftsman power tools is that since they frequently change manufacturers, there is no guarantee of parts availability in the long run. They built their reputation on hand tools, power tools are hit and miss. I have no personal experience with them however.

Unless you hear glowing reports on the Sears, I would stick with either Delta or Jet for a 14 inch saw, and try to find a used one. You can always upgrade it with parts for them from Ittura Design, whose number I can't lay my hands on right now, but others wiill know it. He doesn't have a websight. A lot of folks like their Grizzly"s too.

    Good luck
