Great resource for Nicholson Rasps #49 #50 etc.

Found my way to this thread through Google at the WoodCentral Hand Tool Forum, posted a Thanks message there. Thought I'd post it here for everyones benefit.

There was a great suggestion by Lew Soloway to get these great rasps from Harry Boggs at http://www.boggstool.com/.

I spoke with Harry today and he is going to send me out a #49 rasp sharper than new. He uses his "liquid honing process" to sharpen the rasps better than new. Also offers a great re-sharpening service for files and rasps of all types. Very nice to deal with and highly recommended.

Price is about $20 less than elsewhere.

I know this is a very old thread. When doing a search for Nicholson files on the Creek I found this.

I tried to contact Boggs Tools and see what they could do for me. never received a reply of any kind. Just in case anyone else comes across this, no luck there.

I did end up buying from JamesTown Distributers online. So far they have been a good company to deal with. Good communication and fast delivery.

I'll just add a follow up to Lincoln's post. Right now JamesTown Distributors has the 49 on sale for $31 and the 50 for $37. That's a great price for those two rasps. I didn't check shipping costs.

    No affilation, etc.

JamesTown often has very good prices (sale or not...some times items seem to be "on sale" permanently if you get my drift) and I purchased these rasps from there a couple years ago.

    No problem, great rasps.
