    Which router lift

    Which one?

    http://www.jessem.com/rout_r_lift_fx.htm
    http://woodpeck.com/quickliftalum.html

I'm lookin at a router lift for my 2.25hp router. I've searched on these 2 units and
was looking for any first hand experience. I'm sure they are both very good units, just wondering if there is an edge either way. They are both relatively new, so I have not seen that much feedback.

    Is Aluminum better than phenolic?
Anyone know how the quick lift on the woodpeck unit works?

    Thanks

    Dan

I just got the Jessem. I have not had a chance to use it yet but it is built like a tank. I liked the cam lock on it better. The lift is smooth. I don't think you would be dissapointed in it.

    Dan,

I just bought this lift http://www.woodpeck.com/quicklift414.html
from them and installed a new Milwaukee 5625 3.5 horse router.

The quick lift feature works GREAT. Stick in the crank, turn 1/4 turn and pull the rounter all the way up for bit change, then 1/4 turn and down she goes. Really slick. Great product. Would highly recommend.

As to a comparo with the Jessem, no can help.
Aluminum vs. Phenolic? No can help.

I did get the Jessem Master Fence (or whatever it is called) and replaced my Jointech Smart Fence. Wow, what a great fence the Jessem is.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Like I said I'm sure they are both excellent.

Kelly, from what i have seen the Jessem stuff tends to be a bit beefier than the woodpeck stuff. May not make much difference, but I'm so clumsy the beefier the better.

Marc, with the quick lift have you noticed any flex? I was curious since the 2 support posts are on the same side and there is just the clamp on the other side. I don't want to over analyze things and if there seems to be no flex, I may go with the woodpeck. I like the quick lift capability a lot. On the other hand the Jessem is $50 cheaper at amazon.

Where's my quarter??? Heads it's.. I'll decide in the am.,

    Thanks again..........
