    free shop layout program

Might be old news to most but Grizzly tools has a really nice shop planner http://www.grizzly.com/index.aspx (on left hand side down toward the bottom)that you can lay out your shop with or try different arrangements with. I found it to be a really good tool especially for free

Jack, would it let you print a copy off? Someone awhile back posted that Bob Vila had one on his site. I went there, spent the time to figure it out, planned my shop , the program locked , I lost everything , tried it again , lost everything again , did it a third time successfully , and found that it would not let me print or save . But thanks for letting us know. If it will let you print or save so you can review it later, that would be a great program. Thanks again, Bill

I just noticed yesterday that Delta has updated their site with a shop layout program.

Yes I was able to print it off with no problem. It's kinda neat because it keeps up with what you spend, on Grizzly Tools of course, as you add them to your plan and will total it up to show you how much this layout might cost you.

Just go here & get a free download of Easy shop designer.

You can print what you design.

    http://www.inthewoodshop.org/software/software.shtml

It will be on your computer & you don't have to depend on someone Else's web site to provide the software to do your design work each time you want to dream.
I usually find it much easier to be wrong once in while than to try to be perfect.

My web page has a pop up. It is a free site, just close the pop up on the right side of the screen

That's a cool little plug-in. We put that on our site too. I'm just glad they didn't try and make us code our own version from scratch.

Well what did you expect from Bob Vila... I would not even trust him to sand 2X4s I think he would foul that up as well. He would probably figure out how to poke his eye out

    Mike,

Come on, Bob Villa is not that good! You're giving him way too much credit.

Visio is not a free program... but very good for what it is drawiing diagrams, flow charts and other things that keep amazing me when I see what people are coming up to do with it... Last I checked it's part of MS Office probably the Pro version so it's not cheap... Unless there is a full time student in your house... That is the cheapest software out there. Just need to follow what ever the license says you can and can't do with it.
