I'm getting set to make a firewood run out to my buddy's summer house, right on the beach down in Zushi.
We go deer hunting together, and I try to get down to his summer house (did I say it was right on the beach?) a few times a year, he has a wood burning stove in it that we use in the winter, or the fall if we stay over night, right on the beach, did I say that already...?
Anyway, he takes my cutoffs and such, but lately with the logging going on, I've had a bunch of the wain and stuff from the logs to take him.
I have a few chunks of Sakura here, it has some rot in it, so it will not be any good for bowls, (I think), but I know I can get some pen blanks out of some of it.
I'm thinking just over an inch square and about 8 inches long?
After I cut them up, I'll wax the outside to keep them from drying out too fast.
What say you...?
Cheers!
