    Panel width question.

For my current project I have quite a few raised-panel doors to make and some of them are somewhat wide (21+" in one case and quite a few in the 14" range). This translates into some fairly wide panels. I am using cherry and might be able to score some wide boards and make the panels out of single (unlaminated) boards in some cases but am somewhat concerned about warping down the road. Are there any general rules of thumb that might apply to using single wide boards to make panels? I plan on making all of the door parts before finish and assembly so there may be a bit of time between when I make a particular panel and when I finish and assemble it.

Thanks in advance for your time . . .

larry, i try to use single board panels on furniture but be aware that the joinery you use for your framing members must be strong enough to restrain the panel. wood will move untill it is dust again and all we can do is direct that movement in ways that won`t destroy what we`ve built...02 tod

I go as wide as I can. Once you get it in the panel, you're ok
