It's duck cloth with a neck loop. Would be better with X straps.

I have an old apron I bought at Woodcraft about 20 years ago in the machine room. I have a Hock shop apron I bought about 4 years ago in the bench room. I also have a high necked velcro closure apron by my lathe. All of them work well and serve their purpose just fine--- IF I remember to put them on. Usually I'm all wrapped up with getting into the shop and my mind is on the project I'm planning to work on. As a result, I almost always forget to put the aprons on except when turning on the lathe. Bench and machine room aprons will probably last another 50-100 years at their current rate of use. The lathe apron goes on almost every time I step in front of the lathe. Durn, I even forget to put the apron on when doing finishing, and my shop clothes show it.

Normally I wear one of those "Turning Aprons" sold by Packard Woodworks. It has a elastic collar and stops the chip from getting all down inside my shirt. But today it was 98 degrees out and there was NO WAY I was wearing that thing! I'll live with the chips getting caught in my chest hair!
See ya around the creek,
