    Question whats it for?

I have one of the standard center markers that is made from a yellow see through plastic. It has two sides for varying sizes. OK, so up to this point I know what to do with it, the straight line goes from corner to corner or side to side, but what's with the one with all of the curves on it for?

Could it be for round stuff? Or as Andy suspects?

I think it means "Use other side" for drawing your line. If it was straight some nimrod would mark it off center.

I think this is the curved line he is talking about.

Maybe it's for marking for eccentric turnings.... there are sure enough eccentric turners here

I think the curved part is for reference to show you that no matter how straight you draw the line, in reality the cut will end up like the curved line. (at least that's how mine works)

    center

Wow, I think the idea of it forcing you to use the other edge is right! The company probably had people asking to get their money back on the first model out!
