    Cutting through tenons w/pics

As I have mentioned, I am building a knock-down bookcase for my youngest daughter who will be leaving soon for the Coast Guard. Hence the reason for knock-down as she will probably be moving a time or two in the next six years. The shelves all needed through tenons on each end. After some thought on how to get nice accurate tenons on the end of 30 inch shelves this is what I came up with. The jig is a combination of my panel cutting sled and a fence that I had constructed for another jig. It worked great.

    OK, good job, good job.

Now, get that thing together and let's see if it stands up!!! (Just kidding - I'm SURE it will be the best piece of KD furniture that she will ever own).

    Bob,
Nice jig, only problem, you posted it two days late. I am also making a knockdown bokcase for my daughter, and had one heck of a time with the tennons. Your way looks to be much more accurate, and after building the jig, much quicker. Nice Job!
    Thanks
