    Drill Press

    While in Virginia last Janaury, I toured the Shirley Plantation. In one of the barns, they had an old drill press. Must have needed two people operate. One the crank the drill bit and one to crank the whole thing down. Just interest to see something like this.

    John, the one you pictured does require someone to manually turn top crank to lower bit. I have on very similar made by the Buffalo Forge Co that has automatic down feed on it. They are very interesting to use.

    I think that's a post drill. Looks like it's missing the table though.
