    Smile Granite bar project

Hi guys! My friend asked if I would be willing to help out with his restaurant designing a low-cost wood table for a piece of granite he received (irregular/rough on one edge). He wants to use the piece of granite (58" x 15" x less than 1") as a countertop for a small bar area such that two people could drink side-by-side with their legs hanging under the granite if they were seated in bar stools.
Many of you suggested in the "working with granite" thread that it's better to farm this sort of work out to a pro. I'm wondering if this is the best option in my case? Or is there another way I can secure the small-sized piece of granite to the wood frame without cutting into the granite? Thanks!
