    Why Did This Get Pulled???

In responding to the thread on sharpening, I made what I thought was a simple, innocent suggestion:

The Fine Woodworking site has a good video showing Andy Rae sharpening a plane iron using Japanese water stones without any kind of honing guide.. I found it really informative and quite simple. I tried it his way and it worked, but have since gone to the LV Mk II honing guide for better consistency. I think it helps to watch an expert actually perform the task to get a feel for what he's talking about. THe FWW site isn't free, but I've found it's well worth the $$ just for all the archived articles, plans, videos, etc.

Can anyone tell my why this was pulled? Surely it's not considered marketing???

    Confused

    Hans

Probably because links to other wood forums are not allowed here, if that was your link. I didn't see it.

I made no link, just informed others of its existence.

    Funny

I am fairly new here and would just like to add that this forum is great. Posting other forums or something that is related to other forums isn't going to drive members to that forum. But what will drive them away is threads being pulled! I at least see one of these every other day, and had one of my own pulled. I just thought I would put in my 2cents!

Hans, I'm with Rob as I saw this earlier but unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to respond.

Plain as day. The thread might have gotten moved at some point...was Dennis' original post on the 'Neanderthal' forum or 'General'? (I see everything on the 'New Posts' screen...never bother to check which forum they're in.)

"Design"? Possibly. "Intelligent"? Sure doesn't look like it from this angle.

Neander, Lee. I've been following it and I don't use the "new posts" feature.
