    Wall mounted cherry shelves completed.

For anyone who recalls my thread from a few weeks back about some wall mounted shelves...

... Here is the result. I've been working on these for the past number of weekends, and finally got them completed.

We needed some shelves in the kids room for knicknacks and such, and this was the result. I was going for an Arts and Crafts look. They are Cherry, with a small strip to keep things from rolling off, with an inlayed band of cork under the bottom shelf for pinning things up.

More photos, larger photos, design drawings, and commentary here in case you want to see or read more.

Yeah, those Walnut letters from lee valley are inexpensive, nice clear walnut, and easy to attach. A simple touch to make it personal.

I did consider the fact that this makes it a bit tough to "hand down" the piece to other children or other families. But then I thought... who cares? I'm making a custom piece.
