Outboard Thread Size for a Jet 1442

Hi, I have been trying to figure out what the outboard thread size is for a Jet 1442. I bought a Oneway Vacuum adapter with the thread size I thought it was but it was not. Jet was useless when I called them and Oneway is not exactly sure what size it is. They offered to ship what they think the correct one is with the option for me to return it if it does not work but I would like to try and get it right. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

Chris - According to the manual I found on WMH's website and after looking at pages 24 and 25, my guess would be 3/4 x 16. But we all know how manuals can be misleading for any number of reasons.

Andy, Thanks for the heads up. I saw that also and that is my "guess" at this point. I was hoping someone here had a Jet 1442 and knows for sure. I'll wait till Monday and if I don't hear anything else I am going to order the 3/4" x 16 TPI adapter.

If it's an external thread you should be able to measure the OD (the 3/4") and then count # of threads per inch.

An internal thread will complicate things; best way to check that is to buy some bolts from the local hardware store in the most likely sizes, and check it that way. Once you get the rough diameter there are not too many thread pitches that it can be.

Unless I don't understand what you are asking, my 1442 is a 1X8.

Chris, I think he is asking the size of threads for the hand wheel, since there is no "outboard" on the 1442.

You're right Scott. It took me a while to get it but if I remember right it is a reverse thread.
