    changing bearing on Router Bit

I am trying to change a bearing on a router bit, I haven't been able
to loosen the allen screw. Which way should this turn ? is it a reverse thread ?
I have tried both directions but no luck. I want to be sure I atleast have the direction right before I really bear down on it.

    thanks, Howie

All mine are "normal" threads; counter clockwise to remove. If this has been on awhile some liquid wrench might be in order.

I have best luck with bit mounted in router, unpluged of coarse. Use collet wrench to hold collet, and allen wrench to turn screw. They are standard thread.

Try a squirt of WD-40 and let sit for 1/2 hour.

Every router bearing that I have removed has been normal - counterclockwise to remove them. I put mine in a vice (with wood jaws) and snug it. I have to do this if the bearing has never been removed (factory install). When I put them back I back off on the testosterone!
