    Corel colors

I have a file that is a CMYK bitmap encapsulated in eps file. It's like
a rust color. I want to change it to black. I cannot seem to figure out
how to accomplish this. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

usually, selecting the bitmap, then 'right' click on the colour you want, will change all the elements of the bit map to that colour..

It must be a photo or gradient you are trying to change! That technique only works with solid colours.. You could try converting it to line art first in the bitmap (convert to bitmap selection) oops should be 'mode selection'

    Jeff,

I think what you have to do is to ungroup or break the file apart if the bitmap is mixed in with the vectors you will have to separate them. then use a photo editing program corel photo paint or photo shop and change the color within this program save it and bring it back into corel draw. If you use photo paint you can just double click the bitmap and it will open in photo paint then just change the color and close photo paint the bitmap will be in the same spot as it was in corel draw.

Cant seem to get anything to work. I want to change the color to black so I can laser it into leather.

I tried to attach it but you cannot attach eps files and when I save it to a cdr file it is tooo big for attaching

    Jeff,

Zip the file and then upload it.

If you ungroup everything, you can select the bitmap, and export it to a .tif for example in at least 300 dpi.. The export function will give you the choice of file 'mode' choose black and white (not black and white greyscale) you can then re-import the bitmap, select it, and 'then' right click the colour you want.. Depending on the makeup of the bitmap, you may lose quite a bit of quality converting it to black and white.. Of course the alternative is to load it into corel trace, convert it there (it has better threshold control) and vectorize it, copy it to the clip board, and paste it back where it was in the original file..

Mike, thanks that works for me. I still cannot get it black. I changed to greyscale and it turns grey but I cannot adjust or change it to black for some reason.
