    New jar/vase/HF??

This is hubby's new jar/vase/HF--whatever you want to call it--that was just finished today. It's black walnut from my dad's tree, 5-1/2" high, 4-3/8" diameter, sides about 3/8" thick. Cracks/checks were filled with Behlen reddish brown WB grain filler and finished with Behlen Master Woodturner's Finish - 4 coats and polished like crazy.

Ok, so I know the pictures aren't perfect, but I thought the form was so pretty that someone would enjoy seeing it. And yes, he lasered his monogram on the bottom, but it doesn't show up in the pics.

And here's the other half of the log he turned the above from:

    What say ye?

Nancy, I say, Very Nice Work. I kinda like that form as well. I'll bet the Hubs proud of it! I think that log in the last picture needs a little work though.

Hi David, nicely done! Interesting shape. I like the flare at the top. I'd love to see it in person.
Who says a square peg won't fit in a round hole? Give me a lathe and couple of minutes and I'll get it to fit!
