    I'm Pumped!! (finally)

A follow up on my fiasco in figuring why I was losing vacuum in my new Gast vacuum setup. After many suggestions, 3 hose and filter changes, I had Surplus Supply send me a replacement pump, even tho the original one was reading 26" right off the pump but would drop to 19-20" at best when hooked up to plumbing. Well, don't ya know the replacement pump pulls 26" right up thru the bearing that seats into the handwheel on my Nova DVR! I'm still losing a bit from there to the chuck, but I'm sure I can resolve that. Bottom line, even tho you get a good reading off the pump, it doesn't mean that the pump will necessarily be able to carry that when extra resistance is applied to it.
Thanks, guys, for your ideas. I want to thank Dick Parr for sending me pics of his setup on his DVR, and especially thank Bill Boehme for all of his advice and support in helping me figure this thing out.

    Ed,

All is well that ends well. I am glad to hear that you triumphed over machine and have been able to fill a void in your life with emptiness. Life is good.
