Thread: Red Mallee Splash

    Red Mallee Splash

This was from a nice little burl cap about 7" x 6-1/2" x 2-1/4". Turned as one piece. The color has NOT been adjusted with software.

The wood gets all the credit here! I love me some Mallee.

Originally titled "Desert Rose". Some have suggested "Lava Splash".

  5. "Lava Splash" seems to fit it just right... whatever the name, it's a very nice turning. Congrats!

Beautiful wood, form and finish Neil! Reminds me of a freeze-frame effect of something hitting the water. Very nicely done!

Neal that is absolutely stunning. Was this posted on WOW? I've got to get some Mallee besides just pen blanks. What finish did you use? Brian(giving you 2 thumbs up)

    That's a beautiful piece Neal.

Desert rose sounds good, but I have to admit that when I read Lava Splash, I could SEE it.
