Spraying Black Lacquer

Guys, I'm making a display cabinet to hang on the wall for a football jersey.My friend wants it to be black.I have a gal of SW black lacquer and was wondering if I could use a clear sanding sealer of the same brand of finish as a primer.I sprayed a cabinet awhile back using black,but I use a white primer.Needless to say that when that if its bump,white shows through.I guess I should have tint it w/ alittle black. Will this work or what would you do?Thanks for any advise

Hi Carroll, A couple of months ago I sprayed a table and chairs with ML Campbell Magnalac that was black. And yes I used my regular satin magnalac for a sealer, if you want to call it a sealer, as Magnalac does not need a sealer, 3 coats and you get a great finish.
I guess I just used the satin as a" build up coat" as i wanted to make sure I had enough black to finish the job. I sprayed 2 coats of black and every thing turned out fantastic. The customer and I were both happy.

Thin your first coat of balck lacquer, then put you regular coats on.
