    crown moulding basics?

Can anyone give me the equation for finding out what I set my CMS for cutting crown moulding? I had to do my first crown moulding at 22.5 degrees and spent the better half of this afternoon winging it. WHew, this was very difficult for me having never done it before! I assume that a 45 degree is relatively simple. My saw came with instructions but it didn't seem to help with the crown moulding ( I think it was for regular flat stock). I mean...what do I do for a 30 degree, 50 degeree, etc. Isn't there some kind of equation for crown moulding?
