Is there such a thing as "Black" wood stain?
I want to make some frames and want them black in colour.
But I know if I paint them I will probably make an outhouse of them
so was wondering if I could stain them black.
Thanks,
James

I used a black stain from General Finishes that came out nicely.
I think it was a waterbased stain, though.

Thanks!
Can you provide a link to somewhere on line that sells this?
James
You can use black dye.
Or try searching for 'ebonizing wood' here or in Google.

I used Google and the first link that came up was General Finishes.
Great Stuff!
Thanks again,

India ink is an excellent "ebonization" solution.
