    rosewood bass neck finish?

Anybody got an idea how to finish a raw rosewood bass neck?

I splurged and got a JBass neck from Warmoth that I'd like to finish. For the most part, I'll probably leave the neck mostly raw, but having really caustic sweat, I'd like to protect at least the fretboard and back of the neck.

Just camelia oil, sand to 1000 and paste wax? And then buff?

    Any ideas?

I'm no luthier but I did just do a bass re-finish for a friend. I used several coats of lacquer on the body(alder) and the BACK of the neck(maple). I used only wax on the fretboard (ebony)and also put a few coats of wax on the back. I would think you would definitely want some sort of protection especially on something which is handled so much, but then again...I'm no luthier!
