    Thumbs up veneer glue

I am doing a very small veneer design on top of a jewelry box, it is not an inlay it just sits on top of the box. I was wondering what kind of glue would be the best for this application. The whole design is only about 2 x 2 inches, so it has very small pieces. What glue would be best for attaching the pattern to the box top?

Hide glue comes to mind. However for such a small area, depending on how thick the veneer is and how readily you can clamp it, I would say that yellow glue under some clamping pressure might do the trick.

If it works for what you're doing, you might try the trick of coating both surfaces very thinly with yellow glue, letting it dry, then ironing it on.
