    Lighting for the Workshop

Anyone building a workshop should look at this article "Lighting for the Workshop" by Jack L. Lindsey. He is a retired engineer specializing in commercial & industrial lighting.
You can purchase the article from Fine Woodworking Online Archives, Feb 2002.
I purchased the article before I built my shop and have been happy with the lighting plan. The author provides a formula that takes into account the height of the ceiling from the worktop and the distance between the rows of lights. He also addresses the best type of lighting.

Jerry, thanks for the tip. I downloaded the article last night and read it.

What did you use for bulbs? The article seems to imply that the 4100K/60 CRI bulbs are good. I was under the impression that I should be looking for more like 85-90+ CRI bulbs.
