    John Burke Sharpening System

I am interested in a John Burke Sharpening System for carving tools but have been unable to connect to his web site,

    http://216.106.57.170/~burkes/product1.html.

Does anyone know whether it's just a web site problem? Is John OK? Googling does not provide an updated web address.

    Best, Ted

Without trying to figure out why Burke's site is doen (maybe a DNS problem), I did find that Little Shavers purportedly sells the Burke system:

OK, I had to poke around a little.

The "address" you gave for the Burke system was to Western Woodcarvers. They have an actual site...which appears down:
    http://www.westernwoodcarvers.com/

But according to DomainMonger the site is paid/registered into 2008. So it may be the site is temporarily down.

    Hey Ted,
I don't have an answer as to why the site is down. But I found that it was been archived pretty regularly on the Wayback Internet Archive until April of last year. If you follow the link below there is a phone number and e-mail address to contact the Burke's. (It's the same as Mike W. posted.)

    http://web.archive.org/web/200603211...7.170/~burkes/

Be patient - the wayback machine has always been on the pokey side, but the page should eventually load.

BTW - how have you been? I haven't been able to make a WPW or Turners Anonymous meeting in ages. I've got a 6 year old and between T-Ball and my wife's RN schedule my Saturdays are pretty much spoken for. I hope all is well.

    It Works

    Ted,
I clicked on the address you gave and it went right to his site and shows a pic of his machine to sharpen with.

    Give it another shot.

    Thanks, everyone

Just ordered a unit. Mrs. Burke was making them up as we spoke.

I see the web site is working again. Thanks again.

    Best, Ted
