    Question Cleaning Band Saw tires

What do you guys and gals use for cleaning band saw tires? I'm trying to get my blades to run smoothly (14" Jet with riser) and noticed some pitch build-up on the tires.

A small brass bristle brush works well. In fact, you can permanently mount one that'll do the job constantly.

I just hold some 120 sandpaper on the tires until clean. Works good. Obviously, you need to be cognizant and careful of the blade.

    Denatured Alcohol

    Dave -

Use some denatured alcohol on the initial cleaning. Gets the gunk off pretty well.
