    My new toy

UPS man showed up today with this. It was supposed to be a 1014 I. All the box and paperwork says 1014 I. It looks like a 1014 VS to me. VS box was messed up a little in transit but I am going to call Jet and see about getting a new box. It still works great. I do have a question about the live center in the tailstock. Does it come out?? If so how do you get it out?

Bobby Congrats on the lathe! I've got it's twin and it works well. To get the live center out of the tail stock, unlock the quill lock ...just a little say 1/4 turn and then turn the handle counter clockwise until the live center pops out!

    Enjoy the new toy!

Or you can tap it out like the spur center of the headstock using the knock out tool. Godspeed.

Congrats on the lathe Bobby. Now you went and did it. Fell into the black hole of turning.

And it for sure is a VS model. That is the little black box hanging off the left side. Good luck and happy turning!
