    Mesquite NE

I love this wood !! Anyway this is the first completed piece (have some rough outs drying) off my new lathe. It measures 10-1/4" dia. x 4-1/4" tall and the walls are 3/8". Finished with antique oil and beall buffed. Thanks for looking and your comments are welcome.

Keith, always interested in Mesquite as we too, have plenty here and it's fun to find innovative ways to orient it - I think you've done a fabulous job with your NE! It's is wonderful stuff to turn, nice job! Jude

Saaaa-wheat! I love the colors and design, but enough about your new avatar. Seriously, I really do like the unique natural edge of this form. You definitely brought out the best in this piece of wood.

The edge is awesome. Nice finish too... not too glossy, more satin, which is great for this piece. The curves are wonderful. I also really like the thickness.. a bit.... meaty.

Beautiful NE bowl Keith! The wood is outstanding and I also like the way you left it a little thicker than some - gives it a lot more bark surface. Very nice work!

Very nice. I am going to print out your photo and go show it my pile of mesquite. My mesquite refuses to keep the bark on, but I am still trying. Very inspirational piece!
