    First Goblet

I did not originally intend to post this. I chucked up a piece of scrap pine to do a proof-of-concept on a goblet with rings. Bad idea! The pine was so fragile that even though I was able to do the rings they disintegrated at the slightest touch when trying to sand the inside the way Curt described (and I had turned four just in case!). I started to just trash everything, but decided it was a pretty little form and worth finishing.

And you know me, I'll post a 'first' no matter what it looks like!

Great looking goblet. I tried to make some pine bracelets for practice out of pne and met with disaster. Great job on the goblet though.

Great form on your goblet Mike! Hopefully the next one will be a little easier!

Fantastic! You did great getting a piece of pine to come out so well. Really nice lines and the curve of the goblet is terrific.

My only criticism is that Pine goes best with Chateau St. Jean.

A nice first Mike, even without the rings. My wife had an idea about captive rings and asked me to give it whirl. I discovered that I suck at CR's, need quite a bit more practice.
