This is a spherical ribbon assembled from four stave-constructed half-bowls. Banksia pods were quartered and compound-mitered to construct the bowls. It’s about 12" tall including the stand of macassar ebony.

Malcolm, everything you make is "different". So when I saw the title of the thread. I was expecting a plain platter from straight grained cherry or poplar...now THAT would have been a different Tibbetts. As usual, wonderful execution.
