    When did you join SMC?
I joined SMC in September 2006

How did you find out about this site?
I did a Google search for woodworking sites.

What do you enjoy the most about SMC?
The informative nature of the site and the encouragement from fellow members.

What is the make, model and year of your lathe?
I just acquired a Nova DVR XP with a custom built and designed heavy duty stand done by myself. I also have a PSI variable speed mini that serves as the pen lathe now.

    What is your lathe's capacity?
The DVR is 16" swing over the bed and 29" over the outrigger. 24" between centers and with the swing away bed in place close to 46". The PSI mini is 10" over the bed and 18" between centers.

What is the make, model and year of your lathe?
    2008 Jet 1642
    What is your lathe's capacity?
16 x 42. The headstock can also go to the end for outboard turning too.

I bought a Fisch mini lathe about 5 years ago and had not done anything on it for 4 years. In Oct '07 I found a turning club and brought the lathe out and started turning. I upgraded to the Jet after only about 9 months of turning.

How did you find out about this site?
Googling for info on my "new" old lathe.

What do you enjoy the most about SMC?
It looks like there is a great knowledge base here. I want to learn how to make stuff without getting hurt (again).

What is the make, model and year of your lathe?
Rockwell/delta model 46B (I think), approx 1947. I am told that I am the first person to use it in about 40 years. My grandfather bought it used in the 60's and dad tells me that he does not think grandpa ever used it. I was given the machine and all of the assorted accessories, chisels etc. Some of which I am still trying to identify.

    What is your lathe's capacity?
Not sure, but it's probably bigger than I need!
