    Attention Guests - Please Read

    Guest Invitation

If you are a guest visiting Saw Mill Creek I would urge you to join the membership. No more personal information is required other than your name and e-mail address (which is secured) and also hidden if you select that as an option in your profile when you register.

Registering as a SMC Member will give you the opportunity to post messages w/pictures of your projects inserted directly from your computer files. It will also allow you to participate in various polls, Freestuff Giveaways, Bulk Buy programs, use of the Chat Room. etc.

It should be noted that a real first and last name is required when registering.

    "It is actually painless"

Please adhere to the first and last name rule when registering - it will save the staff time in having to contact you for that information.

If you have already registered without a first and last name please send a PM to Jackie Outten who will update your registration information accordingly.

    Why Real Names?

The members of SawMill Creek decided in the very beginning that they prefer using real first and last names for registration.

    - Real Names are easier to remember.
    - We establish close friendships here and often attend local or regional gatherings to meet and share our knowledge.
    - It is difficult to promote our FreeStuff drawings and other online events when a handle is used to identify members.
    - We are establishing solid relationships with woodworking magazines, manufacturers and sales outlets. The use of handles is counterproductive if we expect these organizations to take us seriously as a group.
    - Ours is an online community that will expand beyond our forums, with new services and support for our members in the future.
    - SawMill Creek is not a commercial venture, we are a group of woodworkers who share our knowledge and experience freely without the burden of advertising influence. Your personal information will never be shared with any organization, our only sponsor is a local area Internet Provider (Hampton Roads Online ) with no ties to the woodworking business.
    - Everyone is welcome! Any age and from any country our members will welcome woodworkers at any level of experience.

Join us, registration isn't difficult and participation is it's own reward.

    club project

    Ken,
I am vice president of the Carolina Mountain Woodturners Club. We have brought this project to our board of directors with a unamimous approval to support the project. We have set our first goal to have members make 500 pens. We have enough money to purchase our pen kits. Is it better for you if we do this on our own or purchase them through you to keep the numbers up and the price down. Either way is OK for us we just want to help out in everyway we can.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Thanks so much for your interest in the Freedom Pen Project. You can purchase kits either way you prefer. We have a slight delay in getting the reduced priced kits (waiting for a bulk shipment of parts from overseas) and the majority of those are already spoken for. I plan on making a follow-up order and could put your organization in the queue for some of those. That would probably mean a 3 to 4 week delay in your getting started.

If you need any further details on the project please e-mail me.

    And THANKS again ! !
