    First Box

Finished my first 'box'. I have a hard time saying that when it is round.
Anyway, the bottom and finial is Walnut and the lid is Sugar Maple. 5" x 2.75" (to the top of maple). I'm not real happy with the finial, but I'm on a learning curve.

Critics always welcome, or how else will I learn?

Looks pretty good to me especially for your first attempt. I really like the contrast of the Walnut and Maple. The finial does look a little more robust then I have seen, but then again it will not be as fragile.

WOW Jon, you are really turnin and burnin on that new lathe. I think the box is really good for the first time. Can't wait to get to my lathe.

Jon you did well on your first one. Way better than my first. Just keep on trucking. They get easier as you go. Well done.

I like the size and the look of the box. Maybe the next one try to make all of the parts thinner, more delicate great first BOX.
