    Real nice. I, too, saw the tractor seat. Made me want to sit down. If it was too shiny, you'd slide right off.

    Now that is a nice piece! Really like that soft luster. Looks a bit like walnut with MUCH less sapwood. The curving/wobbling edge is a real eye pleaser.

    Dale I use a vacuum chuck but it is not requires. If I did not have the vacuum chuck I would just mount a face plate on my lathe and put a foam pad betwean the face plate on the inside of the bowl. Bring up the tail stock and friction would drive the bowl.

    Yes the texture is done with the burner, I think I just used the ball tipped burning pen for this one.

    Now THAT is one beautiful NE piece! There's a lot going on there and you captured it beautifully. Great feathering in the crotch.

    I love the contrast of the sapwood and burned rim, too. Good choice for a rim treatment.
