    Any Food Network Fans?

I was looking at the paper weekend section and noticed that Paula Deen was going to be at a bookstore in nearby Lake Forest Park. I mentioned it to my wife and she wanted to go, so last night we did. It was a different kind of event, she and her husband, Michael sat at a table with a lady who hosts a Seattle afternoon TV talk show, and while it was to promote a new holiday cookbook they basically just told stories and answered some audience questions.

It was a lot of fun, though interrupted by some kind of protesters who had some kind of issue related to hams. They were quietly escorted away, apparently there were plenty of undercover police/bodyguards there so this may have happened before.

She will be at our local Costco today to sign autographs before going on to Portland then CA. Hopefully she enjoys our fresh snow, half an inch so far tis morning.

    Joe:

    As you said, Off Topic:

From my point of view, any cable TV channel is all about making enough money to pay the crews, on air talent, and management. Takes a lot of money.

The Food network seems to be one of the few success stories. Lots of cable networks have it on their channel lineup, lots of TV Ads, and viewers.

I think the success is due in a large part to the person who decides which programs to put on the air. Good Job at selecting the programs, on-air talent and so on.

Then there is the Home and Garden channel, HGTV. A whole different story and person doing the programming. The question is, Why is that Cable channel still on???

I have to agree, they keep trying new shows, every one worse than the one before.

My favorite is Dinner Impossible. We like to watch many of the shows on the network. Almost a safe haven away from the garbage you get everywhere else.

I used to really watch a bit of the Food Network shows. I watched Emeril Live, Mario Batalli's shows and even stooped down to watch Sarah Moulton, but she talked so much that she often ran out of time for her recipes to be done. My wife and I actually went to a taping of one of Emerils Emeril Live shows and it was pretty neat. Nice day spent in New York City.

I'm a fan, but haven't watched for awhile since Comcast took it away from us. (justifiably since I refuse to pay excessive amounts for a gazillion TV stations...they accidentally had it turned on for about five years and finally did a local audit) When I switch to Verizon FiOS or DirectTV it will be back...

But to the point...Alton Brown is a god around here!

    {Large Sigh} Giada....What can an old man say... Looks! & Cooks! {Sigh}

But how can a woman who cooks that well, be so skinny?

My problem is watching Good Eats with Alton Brown makes me so hungry I raid the icebox and just eat anything.

Food 911 - we did one.

Food 911 - My wife and I did an episode about 6 years ago with Tyler Florence. The infamous 'Shoo-fly Pie' episode. We also made a turkey turn-over... like a huge Hot-pocket.

OK... mostly my wife, I did a short lead-in at a Lancaster PA farmer's market with the camera crew the week before and appeared with the kids for the big taste test at the end.

Really cool. 11 people in my house for 10 hours. We had a blast.

Wow, I saw that episode and remember it, but that's before I became a Creeker. That must have been a lot of fun!

It was a blast and brought me to the realization that I should keep my day job.

Thumbs Up To The Food Network!

My husband and I are big fans! After you watch the news, and just about any television show, it's nice to tune into a non violent show! Although it is dangerous because FOOD is our drug of choice!

    Sincerely,
    Phyllis
