Unhappy Splitsville or bust?

When Good Bowls Go Bad!!

Well at least the walls were looking very even!!!

This is what happens when you make the spigot to small for your old nova chuck that you can't find the smaller jaws for .. but you have to use it on your new Jet Mini "stealth gloat" because your Vic 120 that is for your Nova 3k is wrong spindle size.. So now you have to cut a recess for an expansion holding and the sucker just splits while you are hollowing it out .. launched quick too -- bounced off the wall with a nice sharp crack!!

What a waste of nice mesquite ....

Not completely a waste, Michael. I'm assuming that, since they were already spun around, you may have gotten the outside smooth and possibly finished? Take those halves and run them through your bandsaw to get a nice "semi-bowl". Now, with the wide end up, just plant them on the nearest wall and you've got yourself a nice matching pair of sconces!

What he said. Turn adversity into advantage...make a sculpture or something else out of those half-bowls!
