    Wood movement information

Does anyone know where I can find out the relative movement of various woods? I know this info is available but haven't been able to find it. Thanks for the help.

    Gene,
Check out the post by Don Abele in the design forum. He had a similar question and someone replied with a link to a wood shrinkage calculator.

Get Bruce Hoadley's book called "Understanding Wood". There's loads of information which is very useful to a woodworker -- wood strength, expansion, structural analysis, gluing, and lots more. It is probably the single most-consulted book in my library. Taunton Press, copyright 1980, although there may be a revised edition now.
