    Some Candle Sticks

Here are 3 candle sticks I made. The tallest one was made about 25 years ago, and was the first thing I had turned since high school. A co-worker had a shopsmith and my wife wanted a candle stick so voila. Since I got my lathe in February, my wife has wanted another walnut candle stick to go along with it. The first one is 36" tall and the second is 24" tall, both walnut. The little candle stick is one I made from red cedar when I first got my lathe. The finish on both walnut candlesticks is plain BLO with no buffing.

Definately a set! Did you have to start off with a tree trunk to get that much wood? Really like the 24" walnut - great color!
