    first piece off the mustard

    a pice of dry hard honey locust started at 19 1/2 at widest point but after a catch (it dont just slip the belt like a craftsman0 it ends up 17 at the widest bowl is 1 1/12/ deep eventhough cant tell from this pic wings are 1/8 sorry about the gualitly of pic had to brough a camera while mine is in the shop an stand is made of antlers

    That's great looking! The wood has such nice figure!

    I guess that's what you'd call "art"....
    Nice job on this one, and the catches are the downside to the better lathes, I'm quite used to the belt just slipping when a catch occurs on my cheapo...

    Nice looking first piece off the mustard. Can't wait to see some more.

    I've also found that catches are a might different compared to the mini .

    Tony, beautiful grain in that piece! I'll have to keep catches in mind as I start out with my new Jet. It's going to have a lot more torque than my mini. Nice job saving it!

    what smooth power and no shaking only problem is one night of sanding and left it in reverse the next day couldnot get a tool sharpe enough to cut tried everthing till i noticed that it was in reverse shifted into forward and cut like a dream again how dumb huh
