Where to buy Steel City DP

My wife gave me the go ahead to buy the Steel City DP. (She saw what it takes to drill pen blanks using the lathe and sympathized.)

I know Steel City is the same price everywhere, but does anyone know of the best shipping (hopefully a free shipping deal)? I can get it at my local woodcraft for no shipping, but tax will be just under $40.

At Toolking.com orders over $99 get free shipping. I would try there first.

Is saveing $40 worth the hassle of dealing with shipping issues ? What if parts are missing or something is broke ?

Toolking as mentioned has about the best ship price. Don't sweat the missing parts or damage. SC covers the missing part and TK covers ship damage.

But.. my question is with 8 EIGHT Steel City distributors in the state of Ohio... Why would you be concerned with shipping. I suggest you go to the Steel City web-site and look at distributors. Go to Ohio and a list of all scattered randomly over the state is there with addresses and phone #'s.

    Good luck..

Is there a Steel City seller in your area that will deliver? That would be worth the $40 tax IMHO. Having a tool shipped isn't as easy as it sounds. I've done both this year and greatly appreciate the dealer who delivered my TS to my garage/shop already set up as opposed to having to assemble the shipped jointer.

It seems that due to the weight, shipping is free, but there's some other fee added on. It varies from place to place and is more than the tax. So I'll just get it at the local woodcraft store. Thanks all for the leads.
