I am making an expandable kitchen table and I think I messed up the attachment of the rounded aprons. The project plan I am following says to place a 1/8" shim under the apron when cutting it to final length. The plan doesn't mention taking the shim out when gluing blocks to the back of the apron and then screwing the blocks to the underside of the table top. Not thinking about why they would want the shims between the apron and the table top, I removed them, glued the blocks to the apron and screwed the blocks to the underside of the table top so that the apron is flush under the top.

So my question is, have I messed up by not allowing room between the apron and the top for the apron to expand?
