    Ducks Unlimited Gun Cabinet

Been a while since I posted any pictures of my work so thought I would share these.

Every year I make something for our local DU Chapter to auction off at their banquet. This year I went a little bigger than usual. An 8-gun gun cabinet. Flat panel doors, 2 drawers in the bottom section, crown moulding, etc. The trim on the sides is to "hide" the joint line between the plywood sides and the face frame and to give it a bit of a "mission style" look. Overall, I think it turned out pretty well.

Hope it raises some money for the DUCKS! Thanks for looking.

Great looking gun cabinet. You did a fantastic job.

I like the style of it, being partial to the mission look.

It will bring a good price at the auction. (I bet)

I did the same thing a few years ago excepth the item I made was much smaller. I went to a jeweler and had him make the best facsimilie he could of the DU logo that I put on the item. I was thinking that might work for the gun cabinet....maybe have it laser'd into the corner of one of the glass panes? Since it's for DU I don't think (but don't know for sure, of course) there would be any infringement in using the DU logo.

just curious, where'd you get the plans for it or was it from your own head?

Aside from taking a few basic measurements from an existing gun cabinet and a basic sketch I made, the plans were all in my head.

Nice job for a great cause.
My Dad used to take me with him & a buddy of his to the DU auctions.... one year at about 10 years old I was the locky winner of a full case of toilet paper as a door prize. I can still see my usually VERY serious father taking rolls of TP and throwing them like a football across the parking lot..... tp'ing about every car in the lot as the rolls went a-flying.

    Cheers.

    Nice

You ought to get at least a few pretty pennies for that. If not, it's a shame.
