    Question Beautiful Bowl

    Sorry for the stupid question. But how do U get the bowl shaped that way ? Does it warp that way or how is that done. You can tell I am a new turner.

    Dan,

    The oblong shape is actually an optical illusion. If the sides of the bowl came up to the same height it would be somewhat round. I turned this green so the drying wood actually increases the effect as well.
