    pinnacle insert on supernova2 chuck??

I'm curious, have any of you used this combo? The pinnacle insert is less than one third the cost of the sn2 insert.
    Thanks, Hilel.

The down side is it doesn't fit the Nova chuck removal wrench (spanner).

I've read a couple places that it works, I plan on trying it when the new SN2 shows up.
I made the spanner for the Nova insert, I guess I'll have to make another for this one.

    Nova Spanner Wrench

    Kevin,

Is the spanner something special or will an adjustable wrench work?

The space is a little tight (on my lathe) but an adjustable wrench may work. It is a pretty large size and adjustables tend to get fairly thick at that size. I have a serious dislike of adjustable wrenchs and I have a waterjet at work so its easy enough just to make a wrench just like I want it. I know many people use a strap wrench too.

Locate a wrench of the appropriate size... (I found a large Spud Wrench) then take it to a machine shop with a metal cutting saw and have them thin it down to 5/16". It'll last forever.
