    Wood Stabilizers?

If any of you have used Pentacryl or Cedercide or any other green wood stabilizer products please relate your experience with the effectiveness of these products.

I've used Pentacryl on some figured Olive I got from my BIL. Seemed to do the job well. Not sure how it compares to just Anchor Seal tho. Pentacryl is expensive, not sure if I'll buy it again.
Where did I put that tape measure...

    different purpose?

It is my understanding that the stabilizers and anchor seal serve different purposes. The anchor seal is applied to green wood to keep it from drying to fast. The stabilizers are applied to green turned pieces similiar to DNA but are supposed to dramatically reduce cracking and make punky wood more stabil. Purportedly the treated pieces are ready to finish in a few days. Am I understanding this correctly?
