    Help downloading sketchup

I am a newbie here and this has probably been asked a thousand times. I have built some nice pieces from plans off the internet but I am wanting to dive into designing my own. I am trying to download the free version of sketchup. The download completes but when I try to open program, it brings up window for online turorial and online instructor window. It won't let me go passed this. Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you sure you downloaded the right thing? If I remember, some of the tutorial stuff could be downloaded separately.

    Are you running Windows Vista?

This is a problem and the work-around is to go to the sketchup icon and right click on "properties". Goto to the "compatability" tab and under the "compatability mode" box, set it to Windows 2000. Save the settings and restart sketchup. Should work. Every so often the program freezes up on startup. Just shut it down and restart it. It'll work more times than not.
