Latest Project - Arachnoid Chest (pics)

I just completed this a couple of days ago. This chest is mostly jatoba with quilted maple doors, wenge handles and ebony drawer pulls. There were a couple of "firsts" for me on this project. The my first use of knife hinges. These were surprisingly easy to install. It was also the first use of my Leigh jig. Lots of fun. Comments welcome.

    Regards,

    Glen

I really like the design and the combination of Jatoba and Maple. What joint did you use between the legs and aprons?

I would have to say the style of the legs is not really 'my thing'.

I would have to say the choice of woods and especially quality of the work is really 'my thing'. Superb.
And now for something completely different....

Wow...that's an outstanding piece, Glen!!! In every way.

One small suggestion and it's not about the piece, itself...your photo background needs to be ironed or otherwise made wrinkle-free. It's drawing the eye away from the work! Also, make the curve from vertical to horizontal more gentle...again, the shadow it creates is drawing the eye.

    Glen,

Lovely piece! And a big Thank-you for putting in those eyeglasses for scale. I would have otherwise guessed that it was around 48-60" tall, and clearly it is much more tiny than that. What is it for?
