    Sketchup tech question

I have a Sketchup file with 17 pieces of furniture in it. I'd like to email an image of each individual piece from different angles to the client. Is it possible to take screenshots in Sketchup and convert them to PDF files?

    Thanks,

    -Aaron

Aaron this should be possible if you have an application that writes PDFs.
Is the question more about how to write the PDF or how to take the images in Sketchup?

    Hi Aaron,

Install a PDF print driver onto your computer. There are many comercial ones and a few free ones. One of the nicer free ones is PDFCreator. The PDF print driver acts just like a printer, so you can "print" the image you are seeing on SketchUp directly to a PDF file.

I just figured it out using only Sketchup & Adobe:

    1) Use the orbit tool to get into the view you want
    2) Choose File->Export->2D Graphic & save it to your desktop as a jpeg
    3) open it up in Adobe and save as a PDF

    Wow, easier than I thought!

If you have Acrobat then it is easier than you think. You don't need to save as .jpg first and then convert in Acrobat. Just orbit around and zoom to where you want, and then "Print" directly into Acrobat and save there.

If you can get it as a jpeg, why do you need to wrap that in a pdf? It's hard to imagine that anyone that can get email can't cope with a simple jpeg.
Smile. It worries the other guy.
