Thread: Engraving a fretboard...

    Post Engraving a fretboard...

I have a request from a gentleman that would like me to engrave the neck of his guitar and then engrave the abalone inlay to match. Has anyone engraved abalone? Is there anything that might save me a bunch of hit and miss steps?
    Thanks.

Do it very slowly at a lower power and repeat it until you are through. It varies in density and is very brittle. I would cut it from the back.

    This is .050" thick.

    Raw neck ?

Is this a unfinished fretboard ? Or a guitar neck with frets installed?

I posted a similar question here.
